Wakefield City Centre
Pack your passports, sun tan lotion and euros we’re off to Wakefield! In all seriousness it’s an absolute honour that we’ve been asked to put on one of our shin digs at Long Division festival as part of the Fringe. We’ve picked three of our past acts who we think will fit in with the day and do us proud.
We’re in the CENTRAL MARQUEE which is located in the Bull Ring in the heart of the city centre.
So come on down and enjoy these bands plus all the other musicians (there’s a Queen tribute band playing – YES MATE!), plus a record fair, food stalls and free workshops.
Biscuithead and the Biscuit Badgers – 3.30pm
Yorkshire’s most talented, eccentric and loveable proponents of pop, skiffle, jazz, swing and whatever else they fancy throwing into the mix. With songs covering such diverse topics as cheese, soy milk, dinosaurs, model railways and new bathrooms you are in for one heck of a treat.
Elizabeth Pickering – 1pm
Recently featured on the BBC’s new music recommendations, Hull’s Elizabeth Pickering is the perfect addition to the Youth Anthems stage. With a huge soulful voice and striking guitar style Elizabeth plays a modern, fun version of indie influenced folk music.
Kelly Boyle – 12pm
Kelly is an expressionistic visual artist who has exhibited work in Mexico, Greece, Hungary, America, Liverpool, London and numerous galleries across Leeds. She also happens to be an incredible musician mixing repetitive meditative melodies on an electric guitar with her stunning voice. Think Cat Power or Eddie Vedder and you’ll be on the right track!
FREE ENTRY FOR EVERYONE (Long Division tickets not required – but the line up is incredible so we’d recommend it!)
